What to love

Local lifestyle

Living in Glendale provides the opportunity for many lifestyles. Tenants of The Americanas at Brand don’t ever have to leave the Americanas. It has dining, shopping, and entertainment at The resident’s doorsteps. Most locals, however, like to take advantage of the ample nature throughout the city. Glendale hosts numerous parks and a wilderness area in the foothills of the mountain that promises the seclusion of nature. Residents love to fill their evening with entertainment, whether watching dancers while eating at Carousel Restaurant or heading to a show at Alex Theater.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Glendale’s downtown is a bustling space of interactive and electric art, vintage neon signs, and a cornucopia of activities to keep locals busy. The city is an eclectic mix of nature and city life, offering adventures of all types for anyone looking. It’s where some locals never have to venture far from their doorsteps to get everything they need. The Americana at Brand is a living, shopping, dining, and entertainment center that entices residents never to leave. Even those who live elsewhere in the city find themselves at The Americanas for great shopping and delicious food. The people of Glendale have spent many happy days walking along these corridors.

When it comes to food, Glendale has something for everyone. The city has a myriad of flavors, bold and new, foreign and comforting. Raffi's Place offers Middle Eastern dishes in a covered courtyard with stone floors, a grand tree, and sprawling vines. It combines nature and elegance, friendly services, and refined flavors perfectly. For a more casual outing, or on the weekends, a little more festive meal, locals head to Carousel Restaurant. The atmosphere is laid back until it’s brought to life by the tantalizing show of dancers making their way to the main floor. Locals know that they won't just enjoy mouthwatering fares at the Carousel. They’ll watch the incredible movements of skilled dancers. The brave are even inspired to get a lesson from a dancer. Any meal becomes an event at the Carousel.

Eating out isn’t just about delighting the taste buds in Glendale. It’s an opportunity to connect with the community. Residents love to gather not just for the food but for the experience of eating together at Seaweed Handroll Bar. A beautiful double butcher block peninsula bar sits in the center of the space, inviting guests to find a seat. It’s easy to become friends with your neighbors when you sit next to them for dinner. Seaweed Handroll Bar serves up dynamic and delicious bites in an atmosphere bustling with excitement.

Things To Do

Life in Glendale is a mix of city streets and nature views, and calendars full of events and leisure days at the park. The Americana at Brand is a central hub to it all. Here, people live, shop, work, dine and attend weekly events. Live music performances fill the corridors every weekend from February through September. There are puppet shows, live entertainment, and music for the little ones every time the Kids Club is open. For a more prominent venue, the people of Glendale head to Alex Theater. The local landmark is a historical building originally built in 1925. Live performances and old-timey movies light the stage in the grand 1,411-seat theater.

While there’s always an exciting event around the corner, the locals enjoy the serene beauty of their city just as much. Brand Park is filled with residents walking the gardens, heading to the historical library, or BBQing for picnics with friends. When 31 acres of greenery isn’t enough to feel submerged in nature, it’s an easy trip to Deukmejian Wilderness Park at the foothills of San Gabriel Mountain. It’s easy to feel completely lost in nature on any one of the rugged trails of the wildness park. The entire area is nothing but nature, surrounded by nature, except for the Stone Barn Nature Center. This part of the park has historical buildings jutting from the landscape, offering great views, shade, and a little education.
