Pasadena

It’s a family-oriented place with many parks and annual events welcoming guests of all ages.

Welcome to Pasadena

Welcome to a community of art, collaboration, and natural beauty

Just northeast of LA sits the historic town of Pasadena. Pristine tree-lined streets twist and turn through this beautiful little city. Victorian and Art Deco buildings mark Old Pasadena, where history has been preserved. It’s a family-oriented place with many parks and annual events welcoming guests of all ages. Living here means sunny days, delicious food, and friendly neighbors. Locals reside in ranch homes, custom builds, and historic houses, preferably with sprawling porches.

It’s a city of college students and families, communal living, and living on your own. The community is very welcoming, with many getting close to each other at events like the Pasadena Rose Parade. Old Pasadena isn’t just historic buildings; it has shopping centers and rows of delicious restaurants beckoning guests.

What to love

Local lifestyle

Life in Pasadena is laidback. It has the vibes of a beach town but sits at the base of San Gabriel. Some might attribute the city’s mood to the endless palm trees, but it’s a place that appreciates nature. Pasadena hosts several beautiful parks and trails, such as Brookside and Eaton Canyon. It hosts major events at the Rose Bowl Stadium and gets creative working together on floats for the Pasadena Rose Parade. Living here is a life full of art, beauty, and fun in the sun.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Pasadena is home to beautiful tree-lined streets marked by eye-catching Victorian and Art Deco buildings. Walking around town is serene, yet there’s still so much going on. Old Pasadena is full of historic architecture, shopping centers, and fabulous restaurants. Locals love that they don’t have to leave their beautiful little town to enjoy delectable bites.

Residents try not to boast about having some of the Pacific’s best sushi chefs amongst them. Through a corridor of brick buildings, stone floors, and twinkle lights, Kaviar serves phenomenal culinary creations amongst black walls and samurai suits. It’s the perfect place for first dates or dinner with friends. For locals who love Japanese flavors but still want a juicy steak, there’s nowhere quite like Alexander’s Steakhouse. While the wagyu is impressive, those in the know come to Alexander’s for their in-house dry-aging room, where their featured 28-day dry-aged steaks are cured.

Living in Pasadena provides endless joy for the tastebuds. When it’s time for a pick-me-up, locals head to the town’s favorite coffee shop, Republik Coffee Lounge. Starting the day at the Republik means strong coffee, a wide array of teas, and innovative baker confections. Even chains like Huston’s are full of ambiance and flavor in Pasadena. Huston’s goal is to create experiences for intimate gatherings. From warm, soft bread to mouth-watering burgers, everything that comes out of their kitchen leaves locals full and satisfied. Huston's leaves nothing to be desired, set in moody corners of red brick and yellow Edison lights or airy spaces covered in an oasis of greenery.

Things To Do

Pasadena is home to the Rose Bowl Stadium. The historic football stadium where four Super Bowls have been played isn’t just for sports. Rose Bowl Stadium hosts concerts, music and arts festivals, flea markets, and celebrations all year. It’s a local tradition to camp out near the stadium along the Pasadena Rose Parade route on New Year's Eve. Neighbors bring in the New Year together and camp in temporary campgrounds, preferably with a parade view. It’s the best way to get a front-row seat and celebrate the upcoming parade and the year that’s passed. Even those who commemorate New Year's Eve elsewhere catch the stunning array of floral creations driving down Colorado Boulevard in the morning. The art, the music, and the spectacle of it all have only improved with time. The Tournament of the Roses isn’t just a spectator sport, though. It invites the community to collaborate on these dazzling creations, ensuring the creativity and quality continue to soar.

The fun times are always close at hand for residents of Pasadena. On a sunny Saturday, kids can be found playing on a giant pirate ship jungle gym amongst the sprawling grasses of Brookside Park. Families and friends gather around the BBQs, toasting to the day. For the youngest ones, there’s a toddler playground with safe but exciting equipment eliciting squeals of delight. Residents don't have to venture far for a slightly more rigorous outdoor adventure. The Eaton Canyon Hiking Trail offers a beautiful hike through the canyon, winding around streams, wildlife, and stunning views. It’s a great way to escape from the city without ever having to leave it.
